Protection when the unknown strikes

Hospitality continuity, not just backup

ROCKAXIOM keeps your POS Controller and critical Windows systems protected with managed backups, rapid recovery and the option for instant virualisation through an on-site Disaster Recovery appliance

Delivered by Rockley Consulting, built specifically for Australian hospitality venues

Why venues choose ROCKAXIOM

Hospitality moves fast and the pressure doesn’t stop. When a POS controller fails, a database corrupts or a system goes down mid-service, the impact is immediate. ROCKAXIOM gives venues a simple, managed way to protect their operations without needing to understand backup technology

  • Built for hospitality | Designed around H&L POS, Windows Server and real working venues.

  • Protection when the unknown strikes | SQL every 15 minutes, key files and system state recovered quickly.

  • Managed for you | We monitor everything, fix issues and support you when something breaks.

How ROCKAXIOM works

Step 1: Protect your POS and SQL Database

We install a lightweight agent on your POS Controller or Windows Server. Your H&L Sysnet SQL database is backed up every 15 minutes, with critical files and system state captured on a regular schedule depending on your plan.

Step 2: Store securely in the cloud

Backups are encrypted in transit and at rest, and stored in the cloud securely in Australia with 365-day retention. You don’t need local storage or hardware unless you choose the Disaster Recovery appliance.

Step 3: Recover fast when something breaks

If something goes wrong, we handle the recovery. This includes SQL restores, file or system repair, and if you have the Disaster Recovery appliance, we can virtualise the POS Controller so you can continue trading with minimal disruption.

About

ROCKAXIOM is delivered, supported and continuously improved by Rockley Consulting, a hospitality-focused technology consultancy based in Australia. We specialise in H&L POS environments, Windows-based infrastructure, and business continuity solutions designed specifically for venues that can’t afford downtime. For more than a decade, hospitality operators have relied on us to keep their point of sale systems running smoothly, protect their core operational data, and recover quickly when the unexpected occurs. We understand the reality of venue operations: busy services, high staff turnover, ageing hardware and the critical need for systems that “just work”.ROCKAXIOM was developed in direct response to the gaps we saw in traditional IT backup products. Generic backup tools don’t account for the unique pressures of hospitality, the dependency on local SQL databases, the risk of POS controller failure, or the cost of downtime during service. ROCKAXIOM is purpose-built to solve these problems with simple, reliable continuity technology and fully managed recovery support.

Why we Built ROCKAXIOM

Most venues don’t have internal IT teams, and even multi-venue groups often struggle with fragmented systems and inconsistent backup practices. A single server failure during service can result in lost sales, downtime, staff frustration and customer impact.ROCKAXIOM ensures:

  • Your SQL database and POS controller are always protected

  • Recovery never relies on onsite staff or trial-and-error

  • Data is retained for 365 days for full historical rollback

  • Restores are handled by a specialist who understands hospitality workflows

  • You have a predictable, managed continuity plan, not just a backup

Our goal is simple: keep your venue trading, even when the unexpected happens.

Who we work with

ROCKAXIOM is used by:

  • Restaurants and bars

  • Clubs and pubs

  • Hotels and resorts

  • Multi-venue groups

  • Regional venues with limited onsite IT

  • Any venue relying on H&L POS or Windows-based POS controllers

This makes ROCKAXIOM the only hospitality-specific BCDR offering currently in the Australian market.

Our commitment

We believe continuity should feel predictable, manageable, and built for real-world hospitality operations. When you subscribe to ROCKAXIOM, you’re not just enabling backups — you’re partnering with a consultant who understands how critical your systems are during service and what it takes to get you back online quickly.

What is Hospitality Continuity?

Hospitality continuity is the ability for your venue to keep trading when something unexpected goes wrong. It's about staying open, serving guests and protecting revenue even if a critical system fails.

In most venues, the POS Controller, the Sysnet SQL database, and a handful of workstations are essential for daily operations. If any of these stop working, the business often stops with them. Hospitality continuity ensures that doesn't happen.

Put simply: continuity means your venue can keep operating, even when the unexpected strikes.

Why continuity matters in hospitality

Venues rely heavily on local systems. When they fail, even for a short time, the consequences are immediate.

Operational impact

  • POS terminals can't take orders
  • Tills may not open
  • Dockets can't print to the kitchen
  • Stock and sales data can't sync
  • Staff are forced into manual workarounds

Financial impact

  • Lost sales
  • Longer wait times and unhappy guests
  • Difficulty reconciling revenue
  • Potential data loss that affects reporting, stock and compliance

Continuity ensures these problems can be recovered from quickly and reliably.

How continuity protects your venue

A continuity solution focuses on recovery, not just backup. It gives you a practical way to restore systems within minutes or hours, not days.

A strong continuity approach usually includes:

  • Frequent SQL backups Protecting your POS transaction database every 15 minutes so you never lose a service period.
  • System state protection Safeguarding the full Windows environment so it can be rebuilt exactly as it was.
  • File and folder backups Capturing configuration files, menu data, stock files and other essentials that keep the venue running.
  • Long-term retention Keeping a full year of history for rollback, audits and compliance.
  • Disaster recovery options Depending on your plan, this may include an onsite appliance that can virtualise your POS Controller if it fails.

What continuity is not

Many people think continuity is just having "a backup". A backup is simply a copy of data. It doesn't mean you can operate.

Hospitality continuity is about being able to trade, not just having files stored somewhere.

Why it matters now

Hospitality venues have limited IT resources and increasingly rely on systems that must stay online. When something fails, every minute counts. Continuity gives you:

  • Confidence that your POS and SQL data are safe
  • A clear recovery plan
  • Reliable support to get trading again
  • Reduced downtime and financial loss
  • Peace of mind during busy service periods
